26. Female. Married.

I like cats and video games and original characters, as well as drawing and writing and roleplaying (including LARP). Standard fare for the internet, I should think.

I love theorycrafting and headcanons and talking about settings. Analyzing media and being highly critical of things I like.

I like Star Wars, Fallout, and Bioshock. I like vampires, changelings, and other supernatural denizens, especially as presented by the World of Darkness series. I like noir settings, especially as written in pulp novels (such as those about Phillip Marlowe).

I greatly enjoy consuming and creating media about post-apocalyptic, dystopian and noir settings. Talk to me about it sometime.

But seriously, it always kind of bugged me that Jasmine was just like “the girl that Ryan fucked and then had a baby but but but Culpepper and then Tenenbaum and then Fontaine SECRET PLAN. And then she gets murdered by Ryan”. Her story is actually really fucking depressing; she’s some show girl that Cohen seduces down to Rapture for Ryan, all the while getting told that she’s gonna be a “star” except SURPRISE YOU’RE A STRIPPER AND YOU CAN’T LEAVE.
Ryan kind of intentionally keeps her financially dependent on him, and she is actually trapped at the bottom of the ocean stripping and getting fucked by a guy who is pretty distant emotionally and is tacitly abusive towards her. She gets pregnant and decides that she’s going to take her life into her own hands for once, and for that she gets murdered and her role in the story is more for shock factor and a means-to-an-end than actually telling a story about a woman who is consistantly abused by the world around her.
I think it would’ve been cool if she would’ve had a bit more agency and Culpepper/Tenenbaum had been written out of that part and she and Fontaine would’ve met personally about the baby situation. He’s enough of a slime that it would make sense he’d have his fingers in secret baby trafficking, and it would’ve given Jasmine a bit more agency in her future. It’s fairly easy to assume that she wouldn’t realize how deep the rabbit hole went with Fontaine/Ryan and plasmids and all that garbage.
I mean, I doubt their pillow talk was about Ryan’s financial planning and genetic research.
